And they're right to panic.

Walker tore his ACL. Season over. Andersen walked. Gone. Bates isn't practicing -- the team says back injury, but he's playing on an expiring contract and hasn't taken a single rep. CJ Henderson is nowhere to be found. Four defensive pieces either gone, hurt, or absent with Denver four days out.

Cunningham's response so far: Sydney Brown, a safety from Philly. Marlon Tuipulotu, a run-stuffing DT. Keidron Smith off the waiver wire.

You see what's missing?

Zero edge rushers. The one position that is actively on fire is the one position the GM hasn't touched. Kayvon Thibodeaux is right there -- fifth overall pick in 2022, Giants want out, price dropping by the day. Josh Sweat is available in Arizona. Haason Reddick is a free agent who already knows Ulbrich's defense from their Jets days.

The targets exist. The urgency exists. The phone calls apparently do not.

I said in April that Cunningham cooked one of the best draft classes in the division. I'm asking him now: what exactly are you doing with the roster around it?
