The Hawks own a 2-1 series lead, the draft board handed Cunningham every defensive tackle he wanted at 48, and Tata Martino told the press his 2018 trophy is the only thing keeping him employed. Four teams, four emotional temperatures, one Friday morning.

Hawks

McCollum's fadeaway from the left baseline with 12.5 seconds left gave the Hawks a 2-1 series lead. But the Game 3 number that matters most is not McCollum's. It is Mikal Bridges's. That gap — built on a .267 opponents' BABIP, 22 points below league average — means the pitching staff has been converting contact into outs at a rate that narrows over time. The question is not whether the Braves are good. The question is which version of good they are.
