The Falcons have posted nothing since Sunday evening and named nobody for Thursday night at Lambeau Field. ESPN's tracker projects the Phillies at Truist Park to open the wild-card round, in a seed of this format Atlanta has never held.
Monday, and the only day this week with nothing on an Atlanta scoreboard. It is the morning after a division clinched by MLB's mark and after Carolina 34, Atlanta 3, and the week of a Thursday-night game with no quarterback named for it.
Falcons
Nothing dated Monday had posted on the club's site as of 7:18 this morning: no availability, no practice report, no starter for Thursday, and ESPN's transaction log for Atlanta shows nothing newer than Saturday's elevation of Zach Harrison from the practice squad. The newest post is Tori McElhaney's, from 6:31 Sunday evening; it says the club travels to Green Bay for Thursday Night Football and nothing about who plays quarterback there. The club's last word on that room is earlier Sunday afternoon's, in Will McFadden's game breakdown: Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa were inactive, and their availability will be monitored on a short week. Sunday morning's report that Penix could play Thursday is still a report. The game is Thursday night, September 24, 8:15 PM ET at Lambeau Field, on Prime Video, and who starts there is the week's open question.
The NFC South after two weeks, as ESPN's standings read it: Carolina 1-1, New Orleans 1-1, Tampa Bay 0-2, Atlanta 0-2, tied for last, and tonight's Giants at Rams game touches none of it. Four national voices put Sunday on the quarterback position, Gronkowski on FOX, Riddick, Benkert and Sharpe, with unserious franchise as Benkert's two words for it, and Dex has the clock on when each of them said so. The opponent is 1-1 after Green Bay 20, the Jets 17 in overtime on Sunday, a six-game losing streak snapped, and Miles has Green Bay's third-down columns, both sides of the ball. What Sunday's tape said about this offense, Miles wrote last night, and nothing the club has posted since changes it; Dex's receipt, that Cooper Rush does not start Thursday, is graded Friday, by Dex.
Braves
No game today, and none for Milwaukee or Los Angeles either, so the top three rows in the National League read tonight as they read this morning: Milwaukee 98-58, Los Angeles 96-60, Atlanta 92-64, the third-best record in the league by ESPN's own sentence. The division was clinched Sunday, by MLB's standings; Ellis has the finale and the count of how many it took. ESPN's postseason tracker, updated Monday morning, projects "(6) Phillies at (3) Braves" as one of the two wild-card series, best of three from Tuesday, September 29, the winner meeting the Dodgers in a Division Series, and the 6 is not settled: the Cubs and the Padres are 87-69, Philadelphia 86-70. Tuesday brings the Braves back to Truist Park for the first time since September 13 and the first time since the clinch, Cincinnati, 72-84, at 7:15 PM ET, JR Ritchie listed to start, the first of the six left, which run through Sunday afternoon at Miami. Thursday doubles up: Cincinnati at Truist Park at 7:15, then Lambeau at 8:15.
Hawks
The building has a date before the roster does. By a club release dated July 30, State Farm Arena hosts the Hawks' sixth Million Meal Pack with State Farm on Saturday, September 26, a one-day meal-packing event the release aims at more than 5,000 volunteers; that is two days before September 28, the league's first allowable report date for veterans, with camps opening the 29th, and the club has posted nothing dated after September 16, with nothing on ESPN's transaction log newer than the 18th.
Atlanta United
Idle until Saturday, and the table is idle with them: no Eastern Conference club plays before Saturday, when Atlanta host New York City FC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, 7:30 PM ET on Apple TV, so the East reads on Saturday morning the way it reads this one. That is Atlanta 14th on 26 points, level with Columbus on 26 and behind on goal difference, and New York City 10th on 32, with eight left for both by the league's own count. The club has posted no availability report since Saturday's win at Portland, which Tito called a result and not a restoration, and Saturday is the first test of the distinction, and the next thing that can move Atlanta's own row.
One more thing.
ESPN's tracker has Atlanta at the 3 this morning, and in the twelve-team format that is a seed Atlanta has never held. The record reads the 2 in 2022, a bye and then a Division Series lost to Philadelphia with one win in four games; the 1 in 2023, a bye, the same opponent, the same one win in four; the 5 in 2024, a wild-card series at San Diego, two games and out; and nothing in 2025, when the club finished fourth. By ESPN's line the 3 opens at home, the Phillies at Truist Park, in a round Atlanta has played once in this format and never at home.

Carolina kick off at 1:00, and an ESPN report at 6:00 this morning puts Penix's name beside Thursday night, the one kind of document Dex said his read was not.
Series Won, Harrison Elevated
Atlanta took the series in Houston with a game to spare, Philadelphia lost at the Mets, and the gap is six by MLB's count with seven to play. The Falcons' one Saturday document is a practice-squad elevation, and Atlanta United were under way at Portland when this edition went out.
