They're Cooked

"We think we have a good team."

Miguel Almiron said that after a 4-1 loss to the Revolution. Fifteenth in the Eastern Conference. Dead last. The man who came back to save the franchise dropped those words like he believed them.

He's wrong.

Atlanta United doesn't have a good team. They have 3-12-3 and 12 points. Nineteen goals in 18 matches — fewest in MLS. A -14 goal differential. An away record of 1-7-2. They've failed to score in 12 of 32 matches across all competitions this season. Two clean sheets all season — 29th in MLS. Jacob and Mihaj fined for discipline. Mercedes-Benz Stadium locked out for the World Cup while the team grinds through six straight road games at a clip of one win in ten.

This is the club that packed 73,019 into that building and won MLS Cup in its second year. That was eight years ago. The trophy case hasn't moved. The standings have — straight down.

And Almiron — the $7.9 million prodigal son — has zero goals in 2026. Zero. American Soccer Analysis clocked his 2025 xG underperformance at -4.87. Worst in MLS. That's not a slump. That's a verdict.

I was 89% in July that this is a front office failure. I'm at 91% now. Not because dead last is news — I've been saying this since May. Because there's no counter-argument left. They're not rebuilding. They're not unlucky. They're not "adjusting."

They're cooked.

Nobody's arguing anymore.
