With ten men. On the road. In Philadelphia.

For 43 minutes after Almirón's opener, this looked like the club that won MLS Cup in its second year. Organized. Dangerous. Playing with something that felt uncomfortably like belief.

Then the 73rd minute happened. Then stoppage time. Iloski pulled one back. Pierre equalized in the 90th plus six. Alladoh won it in the 90th plus seven.

Three goals. Twenty-four minutes. Two of them after the clock should have stopped.

This is worse than any blowout. A blowout lets you pretend the talent isn't there. Tonight proved it is — and that makes the collapse unforgivable. The organization has built nothing underneath that talent to hold it when the legs go.

I said the front office was the problem at 89%. Tonight the players proved I was right. They showed what this roster does at its best — and exactly how fast it falls apart without the depth to close a game a man down.
