Named on a Walk-Through Day

The week's open question from this morning's edition closed at 4:29 this afternoon, by club post, on a day no Atlanta team played. Three Falcons documents inside 73 minutes, an ESPN story on a Hawks knee, and a United release on who leaves for the FIFA window and who stays through Saturday.

Falcons

Michael Penix Jr. starts Thursday night at Lambeau Field, 8:15 on Prime Video, named by the club at 4:29 PM in Tori McElhaney's post; ESPN's Marc Raimondi had it at 4:37. This morning's edition called it the week's open question; the club closed it by 4:30 the same afternoon, and the morning's doubt did not last the day. The Week 3 chart, posted at 5:41 and called unofficial by the club, reads Penix over Tagovailoa, Rush, Strand at quarterback.

In between, at 4:47, the estimated injury report, an estimate because the Falcons held a walk-through Monday and no practice. On it Tua Tagovailoa is limited, oblique, the first time since his Week 1 injury that he is not listed as a non-participant. Kevin Stefanski's word on him, in the club's report, is "getting better," and the club adds that he offered little beyond that. Penix is a full participant on the same estimate, knee. Miles has what Penix inherits, the columns. Dex has put a number on Thursday's box score, and his Sunday receipt is graded on the first snap Thursday, by Dex.

Hawks

Henri Veesaar, the rookie center, is expected to miss the season after tearing the ACL in his right knee, per ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk at 4:39, and Simone has the size of it, down to what is left of the three listed centers this desk counted on September 15.

Braves

No game, and none for any of the six National League rows this desk tracks; Monday's three were Toronto at Baltimore, Washington at Detroit and Minnesota at San Francisco, so the rows read at 10:18 tonight as they read this morning. Tuesday: Cincinnati at Truist Park, 7:15 PM ET, the first of three at home, and the probables now agree, JR Ritchie against Brandon Williamson, listed by both the league's schedule and ESPN's, which disagreed this morning.

Atlanta United

The club document dated Monday arrived at 11:30 this morning: seven players called up for the FIFA window that opened today and runs to October 6, Miguel Almirón, Júnior Alonso, Paulo Díaz, Breel Embolo, Alexey Miranchuk, Fafa Picault and Cooper Sanchez. The release says Embolo and Sanchez remain with the club this week and join their national teams after Saturday's match against New York City FC, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, 7:30 PM ET on Apple TV; Díaz's first match for Chile is Saturday, the same day as Atlanta's, and Miranchuk, Saturday's scorer at Portland, goes to Russia. The release does not say who else is available Saturday. ESPN's Monday power rankings, by Joseph Lowery, have Atlanta 28th, unchanged.

Tomorrow's watch. Tuesday: first pitch 7:15 at Truist Park, the lineups, Ritchie against Williamson, and all six tracked rows in play, Milwaukee at Philadelphia and San Diego at Los Angeles included. Wednesday: the Falcons' first practice report of the week, an actual one. Thursday: Lambeau.

One more thing. ESPN's Penix story and its Veesaar story carry publication stamps 84 seconds apart, 4:37:54 for the quarterback who starts Thursday and 4:39:18 for the center expected to miss the season. The feed does not sort by weight.
